Team sports are an important part of the athletics program at Lakefield College School. Every year, and every season, LCS is one of the most competitive and successful Division II schools in the Canadian Independent School Athletics Association (CISAA). Almost every LCS team qualifies for CISAA play-offs. Depending on the sport and age division, some teams may also compete in the Kawartha And District Athletic Association.
Participation in team sports has long been recognized as a vehicle for the development of a student's character and leadership potential. To have students learn and understand the principle of cooperation, in the interest of team victory, is a fundamental goal of our athletics program. The LCS coaches, who are committed LCS faculty members, embody these principles; some have competed professionally, at the university level and represented Canada.
In addition to competitive team athletics, Lakefield students enjoy participating in a wide array of
Life Sports.
