Virtual Student Art Exhibition at LCS
On Friday, May 7, 2021, the Passionate Advocates for Gender Equity (PAGE) group hosted a virtual art exhibition called OurStory. Originally intended to be an in-person event, the PAGE group worked with the DEI Club to transition their original event plans into a remote experience for all of our students and staff to enjoy.
The exhibition aimed to ignite conversations in our community about gender equity by representing gender discrimination through artwork. The art show featured a variety of mediums, including videos, drawings, paintings, photo collages, digital artwork, a dance performance, and more.
Leading up to the exhibition, the PAGE group sold tote bags with a logo designed by one of their members, Alana Kim ’22. The proceeds from the tote bag sales were donated to the Peterborough YWCA to subsidize programs supporting gender-based violence victims in the local community.
The PAGE students offered a tote bag decorating activity for those who live on campus on Saturday. Throughout the afternoon, our boarders painted and drew on their canvas bags to express their creativity.
Thank you to all members of the community who submitted artwork for the show and supported our students’ philanthropic efforts by purchasing a tote bag.
