A Historic Return: LCS Boys’ Football Team Scores First Win in Over 30 Years
Excitement filled the air on campus last week as Lakefield College School fielded its first boys’ football team in over three decades. Competing in the newly established CISAA Senior Boys Flag Football League, the team made their much-anticipated debut in a home tournament.
This year’s team represents a diverse blend of players, with varying levels of experience. Grade 12 quarterback Kaydn '25 led a thrilling full-field drive, finding Charlie '25 in the endzone to bring the team within one point. With time running out, the team decided to go for a two-point conversion, and Kaydn scrambled in for the win—the first in LCS boys' flag football history!
While they fell just short in their second game against Greenwood College, the team left the tournament with their heads held high, proud of their 1-1 record and their strong start to the season.
The team’s return marks an exciting new chapter for football at LCS, and with such a strong start, there’s much anticipation for what the rest of the season holds. As they continue to develop their skills and build team chemistry, the boys are eager to keep up the momentum and show what Lakefield’s athletes are capable of in this new league.
