Women of Lakefield College School

Women’s work at The Grove has been both paid and unpaid. Especially in the early years, women’s gifts of time, energy and resources to the school were sparsely documented.  By taking a closer look, we can see that our history is full of incredible and hard-working women who have made Lakefield College School what it is today: they have shaped the school’s philosophy and direction and they have brought the Lakefield difference to life on a daily basis, here and around the world.  Their legacy leaves much to be proud of, and to build on for future generations.

Philanthropy defined in its broadest sense means to have goodwill to fellow members of the human race; especially as expressed through active effort to promote human welfarePhilanthropy has been baked into The Grove’s mission since its inception and the women of The Grove have always played an important role in actively promoting human welfare on the school’s campus and beyond its boundaries, locally, nationally and internationally. The following profiles represent a tiny sample of the women of The Grove who have made immeasurable contributions to our community.
