• Alpine Skiing

  In the Late Fall Term, all three racing teams participate in dry land conditioning programs until the Christmas Break. In the new year, the team attends a pre-season training camp to ensure safe racing skills, team development, and skill based teams for their five CISAA races, the goal to compete for a CISAA Championship and OFSAA qualification.

• Basketball

  Lakefield College School has two girls’ basketball teams (1st and Jr.) that compete during the fall term. The two boys' teams (1st and Jr.) play in the winter term. All teams play in the CISAA league, hosting their home games in the McEwen Gymnasium. The teams practice at least four days a week. Invitational and League tournaments are also part of the season for the basketball program.

• Field Hockey

  Fitness, co-operation and courage are required from all participants in field hockey; individual and team skills are developed from basic to advanced level. Two teams (1st and 2nd) play in the CISAA as well as play in exhibition games against local teams.
  The 1st Girls' Field Hockey team is the 2014 Champion and Gold Medalist.  

• Hockey

  There are three competitive hockey teams at the school: a 1st Boys' team, a 1st Girls’ team and a Jr. Boys’ team. The school uses the Lakefield and Douro arenas for games and practices, and students who play hockey at LCS are on the ice five times a week. The Bob Armstrong Shinny Rink on campus is also available for practice and shinny games. All teams play in the CISAA. The hockey rivalries in the Independent School league are intense and in some cases reach back into the 19th century. The 1st Boys' Hockey team is the 2014/15 CISAA Silver Medalists. The largest intramural program at the school is SLASH (Senior League All-Star Hockey). Boys and girls play on one or four organized teams and teams take part in an interlocking schedule that culminates in season-ending playoffs.

• Nordic Skiing

• Rowing

  Using the indoor rowing facilities and training equipment at Trent University during the Winter Term, then on the water at the Trent University / Peterborough Rowing Club in the Spring, LCS fields boats in various classes for Regatta in the Spring. Alumnus Trevor Jones '15 is presently a member of Canada’s Junior National Rowing Team.

• Rugby

  This physically demanding sport is played during spring term. There is a 1st Boys’, a Jr. Boys’, and a 1st Girls’ team. The 1st Boys' and 1st Girls' teams compete in the CISAA, while the Jr. Boys' team plays in the CISAA Jr. Boys Division II Seven’s League. Lakefield College School's senior teams are invited to participate in the Canadian Association of Independent Schools rugby tournament in addition to other invitational tournaments. Alumni often return to campus to assist in clinics with all teams. The 1st Boys' Rugby team is the 2015 Silver Medalists.

• Snowboard Racing

• Soccer

  Lakefield College School has two boys' teams (fall term) and two girls' teams (spring term). The 1st Boy's Soccer team is the 2014 CISAA Silver Medalists, while the 1st Girls' Soccer team is the defending CISAA Champions and Gold Medalists. The fields on campus are renowned for their high quality of turf. Utilizing coaches from the local soccer club, skills and tactics are implemented at a very high level during in-season clinics.

• Softball

  Softball is a popular spring sport. Using a local park, the team practices four times a week. The team competes in the CISAA and qualifies for the Final Four championship on a regular basis.

• Track and Field

  The 1st Track & Field Team compete in both CISAA and public school invitational events leading to the CISAA Championship meet with the goal of qualification for OFSAA.

• Ultimate

  Ultimate Frisbee has gained tremendous popularity. This co-ed team competes both in league and tournament play. Lakefield College School’s team has attended the OFSAA Championship for the last four years. Some LCS players have represented Canada at international events.

• Volleyball

  All teams (1st and Jr. Girls', and 1st Boys') play in the CISAA league, hosting their home games in the McEwen Gymnasium. The 1st Girls' Volleyball team is the 2014/15 defending Gold Medalists and CISAA Champions. The teams practice at least four days a week. Invitational and league tournaments are also part of the season for the volleyball program.
