Seed-to-Table Programs

Our Seed-to-Table programs (available ages 11+) provide campers with the opportunity to learn about eco-farming and food production through hands-on adventures on our school farm. Students will plant, nurture, and harvest greens, root vegetables, and more, learning first-hand about the value of food production and regenerative processes.

  • Adventures

    Ages 11-14
    Enrichment Program — 5 days
    Campers will learn about food production through hands-on fun learning experiences, explore outdoors and enjoy our waterfront campus with activities like paddling, sports or art.
  • Intensive

    Ages Grade 8-12
    Intensive Program — 5 days
    Campers will learn about the process of food production and elements of the business of running a farm through authentic hands-on learning experiences, while enhancing their culinary skills.

  • SEED TO TABLE: ADVENTURES: 11-14 | 1 Session: JULY 28 - August 1

    Campers will spend their mornings on the farm at LCS’ own Northcote Campus, learning about the process of food production through authentic hands-on learning experiences. Students will explore the outdoors, learn about critters, harvest produce, and make dishes using the produce from Northcote. In the afternoons, students will enjoy our waterfront campus with activities like paddling, playing sports, or doing art activities. The overnight option is rounded out by evening programming at our beautiful waterfront campus.

    Overnight campers arrive the day before the program start date before dinner; exact arrival time will be shared closer to the program.

    Optional weekend excursions are available for an additional cost (e.g., Canada's Wonderland; 4th Line Theatre). Select excursions during registration.
     
    Prerequisite
    Campers must turn 11 by December 31, 2025.
  • SEED TO TABLE: INTENSIVE: Grade 8 - 12 | 1 Session: JULY 21 - July 25

    Students will spend their mornings on the farm at LCS’ own Northcote Campus, learning about the process of food production through authentic hands-on learning experiences. Students will roll up their sleeves and dig in the dirt, learn about the critters that help keep the soil healthy, harvest and clean vegetables, learn elements of the business of running a farm, and much more. In the afternoons, students will learn culinary skills and make meals that will be donated to local food groups using the fresh produce from Northcote farm, in addition to having the opportunity to sample some of their creations. The overnight program is rounded out by evening programming at our beautiful rural waterfront campus.

Lakefield College School Summer Academy and Programs provide enrichment camps and credit courses for campers ages 4-18, located in Lakefield, Ontario, Canada.
