Our campus came to life this week as our new Grade 9 to 11 students and our Grads arrived (and we look forward to welcoming our remaining returning students tomorrow!). The Grove returned to its vibrant state as students arrived for the 2022/23 school year.
After arriving on Tuesday, our Grads (Grade 12 students) participated in our Grad Leadership Conference, an important annual tradition that creates the leadership foundation for the year. They had time to settle in and grow comfortable with their leadership roles before welcoming our new students to campus on Thursday.
After greeting families and helping them navigate to their new houses, Grads led our new students in house games before spending the day rotating through orientation activities. Some of the sessions over the last two days included:
Introduction to the Health Centre
Dining Hall Protocols and Northcote
Field Games
Safety and the School Life Guide
Meet the Head Students
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
THRIVEing at Lakefield
Waterfront Safety
Introduction to Edsby
Orientation fun will continue throughout Saturday as we welcome our returning students to campus. The topics of tomorrow’s activities include:
House Name Games (learning how to pronounce each others’ names)
