This week, our Grade 9 Math classes at Lakefield College School intertwined the rich traditions of maple syrup production with mathematical exploration.
Students delved into the Indigenous stories surrounding sap collection, drawing parallels to our very own maple trees and sap collection at The Grove. From these narratives, they transitioned into discussing mathematical concepts, including the intricate ratios between sap and syrup and the geometric properties of sap collection buckets.
Stay tuned for more updates as our students continue to blend math with maple tapping and syrup production, embodying the essence of authentic learning at Lakefield College School.
