LCS Summer Academy & Programs: Week One Done In a Flash!
From climbing to canoeing and all-camp Gladiator Day, week one of LCS Summer Academy was packed with action and excitement.
Junior Day Campers began their adventure with lessons at the waterfront and the climbing wall. Out on Lake Katchewanooka, groups of campers paddled in canoes, mastering various strokes while spotting The Grove's resident bald eagle soaring overhead.
Equipped with climbing harnesses, Junior Day Campers tackled the three-story rock wall effortlessly.
Meanwhile, our Waterfront Adventures program thrived with activities like stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and sailing, all against the picturesque lake backdrop. Afternoons brought them to the Art Room, rock wall, and outdoor spaces for more exploration.
In the Climbing Adventures group, campers expanded their skills on both the rock wall and low ropes course, balancing their days with full camp activities at the waterfront, indoors, and on our Northcote Campus farm.
The pinnacle of the week was Gladiator Day, a beloved LCS tradition adapted for summer camp. Campers participated in banner making, paper house chants, and friendly competitions, culminating in Mackenzie House emerging as the victorious team. We're ready for another week of summer fun on campus!
