LCS Students Participate in the DECA Regionals Competition

Written by: Darren Moffatt

On Sunday, November 27, Cole ’23, Hayden ‘23, Griffin ‘23, Nathan ‘24, Selina ‘24, and Willis ‘25 travelled to Whitby, Ontario, to compete in the annual DECA Regionals Competition

Having completed a 70-minute online exam earlier in the month, these students then had to compete in in-person oral events across various categories, including Business Management and Administration, Hospitality and Tourism, Finance, and Entrepreneurship. The in-person oral events (individual and team), also place a heavy emphasis on the 21st Learning Skills, something that our DECA students have been working hard to master during their time at LCS.

Congratulations to all of our students for participating in this world-famous competition. There is no doubt that our six students have learned a great deal through this rigorous process. The perseverance and determination they exhibited are characteristics that will continue to benefit them in the years to come as they navigate the challenges of university courses and eventually the workplace.

Special congratulations to Cole, Hayden, Griffin, and Nathan for performing to such a high standard that they have qualified for Provincials, which will take place in mid-February!
