Winter Fun Day with the New Canadians Centre of Peterborough

Despite the lack of snow, the spirit of winter was alive and well at Lakefield College School's Winter Fun Day!

For those returning families who joined us for last year's Winter Fun Day and the Summer Fun Day this past summer, seeing them back on our campus was a highlight for many. Their enthusiasm and gratitude infused the day with even more joy.

Even without the traditional snowy landscape, our campus was host to various wintery activities. From broomball matches on the rink to toboggan runs down Colebrook Hill (where patches of lingering snow provided just enough thrill), there was no shortage of wintery fun to be had.

Gathering around the campfire, families indulged in the time-honoured tradition of making s'mores. Down at the waterfront, the air was filled with the sweet smell of maple taffy being poured onto the snow, creating a sticky-sweet treat enjoyed by young and old alike.

Venturing into the trails, some opted for a leisurely snowshoe trek; for those seeking respite from the chill, the hot chocolate warming station in Lower Hadden Hall provided a cozy retreat, accompanied by the creative activity of bracelet making.

Despite the chilly temperatures, the warmth of the community and the shared experiences of the day kept spirits high.

Here's to another memorable Winter Fun Day, where the love of community and the joy of shared experiences light up even the coldest of days!
