At Lakefield College School, we believe in nurturing the leaders of tomorrow, and empowering our students to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond. That's why we are always eager to see students apply to attend the Global Student Leadership Summit. This year, eight Grade 11 students (Holly ’25, Jane ’25, Titus ’25, Claudia ’25, Nikita ’25, Oliver ’25, Sam ’25, and Viviana ’25) were selected to represent LCS at the Global Student Leadership Summit in Blue Mountain, Ontario, from April 25-27, 2024.
Under the guidance of Ms. Gullick-Scott and Ms. Gilfillan, our students seized the opportunity to delve into important topics ranging from mental health and wellness to environmental leadership and entrepreneurship. Alongside hundreds of other high school students from across Canada, our LCS ambassadors immersed themselves in workshops, collaborated with peers, and gleaned insights from world-class speakers.
Keynote sessions led by inspiring figures such as Autumn Peltier, Peter Katz, Dr. Robyne Hanley-Dafoe, and Alvin Law ignited a sense of motivation and passion for positive change. Additionally, our students had the privilege of participating in workshops facilitated by 12 distinguished speakers, each offering a unique perspective shaped by their diverse career, education, and life experiences.
The Global Student Leadership Summit isn't just about learning—it's about establishing genuine connections and leveraging collective wisdom to effect meaningful change.
As they prepare for their senior year at LCS in the fall, we eagerly anticipate seeing the ripple effects of their experience. We are confident that this crew will inspire and uplift their younger peers, embodying the values of leadership and compassion.
Congratulations to our students for representing Lakefield College School with distinction!
