Grade 11 Outdoor Education Students Embark on River Adventure

Four classes of Grade 11 'single credit' Outdoor Education students ventured on Wilderness Tours along the Ottawa River for an immersive outdoor experience.

Nestled between Coliseum Rapid and Muskrat Rapid, our teens embarked on a day hike along the riverbanks, soaking in the natural beauty and learning about the history and morphology of the Ottawa River.

The highlight of the trip was an exhilarating rafting adventure, providing students with an exciting paddling experience that served as the culminating activity for their Moving Water Paddling Unit in Module 7.

Bunking together in cabins by the river's edge, students embraced the opportunity to bond and cooked meals outdoors, further enhancing their sense of camaraderie and connection to nature.

This unforgettable adventure not only offered students a hands-on learning experience but also fostered teamwork, resilience, and an appreciation for the great outdoors. Not to mention, they are one step closer to being ready for the Grade 12 Algonquin Expedition in September!
