LCS Welcomes New Kiln to Arts Program!

During the recent Regatta Weekend and Home to the Grove celebrations, Lakefield College School unveiled a significant addition to its arts program—a brand new kiln! This marks the first time LCS has acquired a new kiln in 40 years, signalling a new era of creativity and innovation in our Ceramics co-curricular program.

The program has deep roots in the local community, with connections to renowned potters Al Pace ’77, David Baker, and Bill Reddick ’77. The acquisition of the new kiln reaffirms LCS's commitment to providing students with state-of-the-art facilities to explore their artistic talents.
With the new kiln in place, we are eager to see what students will create with clay in the years to come. From pottery to sculptures, the possibilities are endless!

The new kiln features the Genesis 2.0 digital touchpad kiln control board, bringing kiln firing into the 21st century. Our Art teachers are thrilled to explore the capabilities of this advanced technology and look forward to incorporating it into the ceramics curriculum.

"We are incredibly excited about the arrival of the new kiln and the opportunities it will provide for our students," said Ms. Miller (Ceramics Program Instructor). "With its cutting-edge features and state-of-the-art technology, the kiln will enable our students to explore their creativity and express themselves through clay in ways we've never seen before."

We eagerly anticipate seeing the creative expressions our students will produce with this new kiln in the years ahead!
