Wendy provided an overview of how our brains respond to stress, and why it is so important that we acknowledge the challenges these cognitive realities place on each of us, in all of the roles we play: as parents, as teachers, as professionals, and as members of a broader community.

October 23, 2018 The School Life Office welcomed the Cannabis and Youth Clinical Education Team (a collaboration between local physicians, medical residents and the Canadian Mental Health Association) to speak about the upcoming legalization of marijuana and the concern about the impact of this increased access on the health of our youth.
May 8, 2018 The School Life Office welcomed guest speaker Jack Veitch, Health Promoter & Educator from the Canadian Mental Health Association (Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge).
January 30, 2018 The School Life Office welcomed local experts to speak to about substance use, the changing world of cannabis and THC, smoking, vaping and other drugs.
