In addition to this learning opportunity, Career Day gives students, alumni, parents and friends the occasion to develop meaningful connections for the future.

Tim Bowen

Advertising/Marketing
Former CEO/ Business Owner
Bowen Consulting

After taking a gap year post university to see the world (well actually several years), Tim began his advertising career at Bozell Palmer Bonner and quickly rose through the ranks at BBDO, Ammirati Puris, Cossette and FCB. With deep packaged goods, beverage alcohol and retail experience, Tim was instrumental in the development and execution of numerous integrated marketing and communication plans for clients Labatt, Molson, General Mills, P&G, Unilever, McDonald’s, Frito-Lay, Coca-Cola and Nike to name just a few.

As a former independent business owner and marcom industry CEO, Tim has spent the majority of his career helping clients and advertising agencies leverage their collective wisdom and integrated talents to build brands and drive sales.   As SVP General Manager at Cossette, Tim was often overheard saying, “all communication is brand communication, everything we put in the market place either positively or negatively impacts out customers perceptions and intent -- from till-toppers to GIF’s to video -- so scrutinize everything and know why you are doing what you are doing.”

Tim has very fond memories of Lakefield College School and believes his time and education at LCS set him up for success – in life and in business (even though he didn’t know it at the time).   Tim attended LCS from 1981 to 1986, was Head of Grove House under Richard Hayman, played on the 1st 11 Soccer Team, 1st Team Skiing, and 1st 11 Cricket, he was awarded the Jean Winder Smith Award, The Art Award, The Music Award and the Jr. Edson Pease Prize. Most precious to Tim are the friends he made at Lakefield.  His closest friends remain his fellow Lakefield grads to this day.

Tim a Dalhousie graduate in of all things History and Economics, lives in Toronto with his wife and three sons.  Is an avid sailor, skier and still gets into Algonquin Park at least once a year.
