Film Club Co-Curricular

The Winter Term of 21/22 introduced a first-of-its-kind co-curricular to Lakefield College School: the LCS Film Club. This intro to filmmaking gives students a hands-on opportunity to write, produce, direct and edit a short film under the guidance of Hollywood professional, writer/producer/director/editor, Drew Antzis.

Discover the World of Film Making

Individually or in small groups, Film Club students experience the filmmaking process by developing their idea into a script and storyboard; producing and shooting it using hi-end camera gear; editing the footage, and then presenting their final work. Club members have the opportunity to act in any of the films, including their own, and cast LCS friends for various roles in their film projects.

One of the most memorable moments for me was when the student filmmakers looked through the camera lens as they composed their first shot. Their excitement was palpable. "Woah, that's so cool!"... I couldn't agree more.
