Leaders in Training: Designing Your Future

While on campus, students will learn about factors that affect success in the work environment, explore personal strengths, and refine employability skills. Over the three-week period, students will earn approximately 24 community service hours supporting students in other summer academy programs. They will also be able to choose to work toward their Bronze Medallion or ORCKA Flatwater Canoeing levels 1 through 3.

Upon successful completion of the Leaders in Training program, students (ages 16+) may apply to be a Day Camp Junior Counsellor with LCS Summer Academy.

  • LEADERS IN TRAINING: DESIGNING YOUR FUTURE* | 1 Session: JULY 2 - AUGUST 1

    Students will develop leadership skills through hands-on work experiences with LCS Summer Academy Programs and simultaneously earn a high school credit. Throughout the day, students will have in-class time exploring factors that affect success in the work environment, exploring their personal strengths, refining their job-search and employability skills for future employment, and then have time to apply their learnings through placements with campers aged 4-10 in our Junior Day Camp program. This program will also offer, based on interest, First Aid + CPR C, Bronze Medallion, or ORCKA Flatwatering Canoeing levels. Students will have the opportunity to apply to be a Day Camp Junior Counsellor with LCS Summer Academy after successful completion of this program. The LCS Summer Academy Leaders in Training Program is only be available to students ages 16+ and those eligible to work in Canada.

    This course starts online and finishes on campus.

    Price
    $3,000 - Day (Monday - Friday)
    Optional weekend excursions are available for an additional cost (e.g., Canada's Wonderland; 4th Line Theatre). Select excursions during registration.

    $6,300 - Overnight
    Overnight campers arrive the day before the program start date before dinner; exact arrival time will be shared closer to the program.
    Entry fees, food, transport, and accommodation for weekend excursions are included in program price. 


    Prerequisites
    There are no academic prerequisites for this program.
    Students must turn 16 by December 31, 2025.

    Apply to be a Day Camp Junior Counsellor
    Upon successful completion of the Leaders in Training program, students may apply to be a Day Camp Junior Counsellor with LCS Summer Academy. Student must be eligible to work in Canada and turn 16 before the beginning of the work contract in August.
