Grade 11 Biology Students Get Hands-On with Anatomy
Students in Ms. Confesor’s Grade 11 Biology class recently took their learning to the next level with a hands-on fetal pig dissection activity. This experience deepened their understanding of mammalian anatomy by directly examining organ systems, structures, and their functions.
Students worked collaboratively in groups, taking on specific roles to ensure the process was both efficient and educational. They demonstrated strong teamwork, engagement and a shared excitement about being able to physically explore different tissues and compare them to human organs, reinforcing key biological concepts covered in class.
By working with real anatomical structures, students bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. This immersive experience not only enhanced their comprehension of organ systems but also fostered a greater appreciation for the complexity of biological life.
The pig dissection served as a valuable opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with real-world biology, leaving them with a deeper and more lasting understanding of mammalian anatomy.
