This month, we are poised to welcome six cohorts of students in our Grove Prep for Grades 7 and 8 and Grove Prep for Grade 9 programs. Our Grove Prep programs offer students the opportunity to identify their strengths and passions and advance their academic skills in preparation for the school year ahead while also enjoying traditional camp-like activities.
This week, we said farewell to our third and fourth cohorts and we are amazed at all of the progress they made during their time at LCS.
From participating in team-building activities, like building straw towers, to practicing their dramatic arts skills in the theatre, to brushing up on science skills in the lab, our “Grove Preppers” made the most of their time at LCS.
We spoke to our students to ask how they feel now that they’ve completed Grove Prep and this is what they said:
“I’ve had so much fun, canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming – and we also learned so many drama games.”
“I feel super prepared for school. My favourite part was probably meeting new people, going down to the waterfront, and doing all of these cool art activities.”
“This week, I enjoyed a lot of new experiences, like high ropes and swimming in a lake, that I hadn't participated in before.”
“I feel a lot more prepared [for school] than I did before and my favourite part has been meeting new people and trying new activities.”
“My favourite part was probably just hanging out in the common room at the end of the day and just hanging out with my roommates and friends, playing games.”
We look forward to welcoming two more cohorts of students next week!
