Book Recommendations from Our DEI Club (Black History Month)

Our DEI Club is expanding upon its list of resources to share with our community as we continue to have conversations about Black History Month. Last week, they shared their film recommendations, including titles such as Hidden Figures, Miss Juneteenth, and Malcolm X. This week, our DEI Club is sharing their book recommendations.

Grade 10 DEI Club member, Maureen ’24 recommends Born a Crime by Trevor Noah, saying, “I think this novel really helps people understand and feel what it is like for a Black man to live in a society built for white people to succeed. Specifically, it tells the story of a biracial man who was ‘Born a Crime’. This memoir tells the story of a Black man but with a little twist of humour!”
