Sharing Our Vision for Northcote Campus
Our passion for the environment as, at once, an outdoor classroom and a fountainhead of mental and physical wellbeing has been taking on a more intentional focus in our planning, with a vision to encompass sustainability and environmental responsibility. A large part of this focus is on Lakefield’s Northcote Campus, a separate 160-acre property, where students currently participate in experiential outdoor programs including those that focus on sustainability and regenerative practices, such as regenerative farming, honey production, culinary arts, and more.
Assistant Head: Sustainability Janice Greenshields, in partnership with Bill Lett of Lett Architects, has been leading a campus master planning process for Northcote to explore its potential for future programming. Part of this process includes sharing the vision for Northcote with school and foundation board members, trustees, staff, and parents. Our goal is to fully explore how we might continue to enrich the LCS experience by providing transformative experiences that are year-round, meaningful, and challenging and will allow students to deepen their connection with and responsibility to nature and the earth.
Thank you to all of our parents who joined us on Monday and Tuesday this week, for receptions at Northcote to learn more about this process. Joined by Head of School and Foundation Anne-Marie Kee, Janice Greenshields, Bill Lett and the Northcote team were pleased to connect with parents and share ideas about the emerging Northcote Campus Master Plan and the enriched programming potential it would enable.

Lakefield College School is a private, coeducational boarding and day school for students in grades 9 through 12, located in Lakefield, Ontario, Canada.
