Wilderness & Camping Adventures Program: A Week of Fun and Learning in the Great Outdoors!
In our Wilderness & Camping Adventures Program this week, our campers had a blast immersing themselves in activities that brought them closer to nature and taught them valuable life skills.
From flower crown making to friendship bracelets, our campers bonded over creative crafts and learned the beauty of making something from scratch. One of the major highlights of the week was their visit to the apiary, where they got up close and personal with the campus bees. The excitement was palpable as they learned about the bees' roles in the ecosystem and even got to make their own candles from beeswax and they bottled the honey Mr. Hart harvested.
Our campers channelled their inner chefs as they whipped up dishes like bacon and cheddar omelettes, kraft dinner, pizza, and sweet raspberry crumbles!
The fun continued as the campers embarked on a thrilling kayak journey to Turtle Bay, during which they strengthened their paddling skills and practiced being present in nature.
Beyond the fun and games, our campers also gained essential skills and knowledge throughout the week. They challenged themselves by stepping out of their comfort zones to learn the basics of camping, from pitching tents to spending a night under the stars. Cooking on camp stoves taught them valuable survival skills and self-reliance. They also practiced teamwork and communication to ensure their camping experience was a success.
As we come to the end of this program, we want to express our gratitude to each and every camper for their enthusiasm and positive attitude throughout the week. We hope that the memories made this week will be cherished by our campers for years to come and that the skills they have acquired will continue to inspire a love for the great outdoors!
