Lakefield College School Drama Students Study in London

Grade 12 Drama students at Lakefield College School had the unique opportunity to pursue their artistic passions abroad over the March Break. As a part of their Drama course, the class travelled to London, England to immerse themselves in the theatrical scene and learn from industry professionals.

Under the guidance of Ms. St. John and Ms. Bemrose, the class ventured around London, visiting the National Theatre, the Globe Theatre, the Tate Museum, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, Warner Brothers Studio, The Picadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace, and Hyde Park.

The class also embraced the dramatic arts experiences available to them, completing a workshop at Pineapple Studios with Lucy L Cliffe (former Mrs. T in Les Mis), enjoying a puppet show (My Neighbour Totoro), a showing of Peter Pan Goes Wrong, and more!

From attending iconic productions to engaging with professional actors and directors, they honed their skills and deepened their understanding of theatre in ways that could never be achieved through traditional coursework alone. Moreover, the cultural immersion and exploration of London's neighbourhoods broadened their perspectives, fostering personal growth and global awareness. As they returned home, our students carried with them not only fond memories but also a newfound sense of confidence, creativity, and camaraderie that will serve them well in their future endeavours.
