A Heartfelt "Thanks a Latte": Staff Appreciation Event at LCS

On Wednesday, February 8, Lakefield College School’s faculty and staff were treated to a special Staff Appreciation event, organized and hosted by our incredible parent community. The theme of the event, “Thanks a Latte,” brought a cozy, cafe-inspired atmosphere to the school, with parents wearing aprons and nametags to greet faculty and staff, offering up warm smiles, delicious treats, delightful door prizes, and heartwarming expressions of gratitude from our parents and students.

A delicious spread was provided by Evan Podd of the Old Bridge Inn, featuring a variety of tasty breakfast items, while April Taylor P ’26 ’29 and the team at Nutty Bean Cafe served up custom coffee and tea to keep the energy high. A number of parents contributed their talents, creating delightful baked goods, which were beautifully packaged and presented as takeaway boxes for all faculty and staff members.

Throughout the event, posters of coffee mugs adorned with messages of appreciation lined the space, creating an atmosphere of warmth and good cheer. Sarah Bletsoe P ’22 ’25 delivered a heartfelt address about her family's experience at LCS, while Co-Head Students Jero ’25 and Hannah ’25 shared their own reflections and debuted a fun ‘thank you’’ video they co-created with fellow students. Head of School Anne-Marie Kee also expressed gratitude on behalf of the faculty and staff.

The event wrapped up with a lively raffle of prizes generously donated by parents and local businesses. The excitement grew as winners were announced, adding to the fun. All of our faculty and staff were also given a few extra surprises, including a gift card to Tim Horton’s.

A heartfelt thank you to our parents from near and far for your generous support, prize donations, and thoughtful words of appreciation on the Kudoboard. Your kindness and support made the event truly special and created a lasting impact, thank you.
