New Initiative for Grade 11 Students: A Pathway to Self-Discovery and Post-Secondary Planning
This week, LCS Guidance Counsellors launched an exciting new initiative for Grade 11 students aimed at helping them navigate their personal growth and future post-secondary goals. The purpose of the Springboard exercise is to guide students through a process of self-reflection, exploration, and goal-setting, all to support their post-secondary planning.
Over the next few months, students will engage in a series of thought-provoking activities and questions, each designed to uncover their interests, values, and aspirations. From reflecting on past experiences that have shaped who they are to exploring their passions and strengths, students will be encouraged to think deeply about their future paths. This process is designed to be flexible, with 15-20 minutes of reflection each week via google form surveys, and is supported by valuable resources such as resume templates, character strength surveys, and career exploration tools.
In the coming months, students will build on these reflections to explore career interests, academic strengths, and university options with their guidance counsellor. By the end of the process, they will have a clearer sense of their potential future direction, preparing them for the applications they will complete next fall and helping them make informed decisions about their academic and career journeys.
We are excited to support our Grade 11 students on this important journey of self-discovery and look forward to the insights they will gain along the way. If you would like to learn more about Springboard, please reach out to your student’s guidance counsellor.
