Grade 11 Students Shine at the Ontario Student Leadership Conference
From November 2 to 5, 2024, a group of Grade 11 students from Lakefield College School (LCS) attended the Ontario Student Leadership Conference (OSLC) in Niagara Falls. This incredible experience brought together student leaders from across the province for four days of inspiration, learning, and growth. The LCS delegation, including Grade Reps Rupert Creasy ’26, Connor Engel ’26, Myers Mbonda ’26, Audrey Lett ’26, Jenna Quinn ’26, Lora Ross ’26, and Neil Shah ’26, returned energized and full of new ideas to spark community and joy at our school.
The conference featured powerful keynote speakers who shared their wisdom on leadership, resilience, and creating positive change. Motivational speaker Mike Smith, Olympic gold medalist Cheryl Pounder, and renowned speaker Keith Hawkins captivated students with their messages of empowerment and personal growth.
A standout moment from the conference was Jenna ’26’s remarkable performance in the Ontario Youth Speaker Search. Speaking in front of 2,250 students, Jenna impressed the judges and earned second place overall—a significant achievement. She also had the opportunity to present to a panel of internationally renowned professional speakers, showcasing her talent and determination.
Our Grade 11 students left the conference not only inspired but also motivated to bring new ideas back to LCS. Their experiences have sparked a renewed sense of excitement, and they are eager to channel their leadership skills into building a stronger, more connected community at school.
Congratulations to Jenna on her achievement and to all of our students for positively representing LCS at OSLC!
