Athletic Action: Playoff Edition

Alpine Skiing – CISAA Champions!
 
The Alpine team competed at the CISAA Championship at Devil’s Glen, delivering outstanding performances. Kinzie ’27 placed 8th, while Fiona ’26’s strong finish placed her 14th overall in the highly competitive Open Girls division. Kenzie ’26 had a stellar race, securing 3rd in the combined GS and Slalom event, finishing 4th overall in CISAA. The School Trained Boys team dominated, winning the final race and earning the overall CISAA Championship title! Axel ’26 took 1st place, Koen ’26 placed 3rd, and Jakob ’26 finished 4th in the combined event. Congratulations to our gold medalists!
 
 
Nordic Skiing – Strong Showing at CISAA and Off to OFSAA
 
The Nordic team raced at CISAA Championships in Huntsville, with the Senior Girls and Junior Boys teams taking 1st place, while the Senior Boys team secured both 1st and 2nd place finishes. In total, 26 of our 32 athletes have qualified for OFSAA in Sudbury! Congratulations to our Senior Girls team, Senior Boys teams, Junior Boys team, and individual qualifiers: Maddie ’27, Lynn ’28, Hilary ’28, Cavan ’28, Nikhil ’28, Noah ’28, Julien ’26, Marcus ’26, and Dexter ’26. Best of luck at OFSAA!
 
 
Snowboard Racing – Eight Athletes Qualify for OFSAA
 
The Snowboard Racing team had an exceptional week, with eight athletes qualifying for OFSAA and the SBX Invitational. Congratulations to Alex ’25, Nora ’25, Isabelle ’26, Nicola ’25, Laura ’28, Thomas ’28, Cash ’28, and Theo ’26! A special shoutout to Alex for sweeping first place in all three events!


Swim Team Wraps Up Strong Season
 
LCS’s inaugural swim team finished their season at CISAA Championships at the Markham Pan Am Centre. Nikita ’25 set the bar high, coming within 0.46 seconds of the OFSAA qualifying time in the 100m breaststroke. A fantastic start for the program—well done!


Volleyball – Playoff Push Continues

The Jr Girls Volleyball team wrapped up an impressive season, showing great improvement in a close game against St. Clement’s. 2nd Girls Volleyball earned a bye to the Final Four next week after a strong season.

In the playoffs, 1st Girls Volleyball dominated Ridley College in the quarterfinals, winning 3-0 with outstanding defense and serving. They head to Country Day School for the Final Four tomorrow.


Basketball – Advancing to Quarterfinals & Final Four
 
The Jr Boys Basketball team secured third place in their league and cruised past Holy Trinity 65-34. They will travel to Ridley on Friday for the quarterfinals.

The 1st Boys Basketball team also finished third in their league and battled Bayview Glen in a tense 55-51 victory. They now advance to the Final Four at De La Salle next week.
 
 
Hockey – Dominating the Ice
 
2nd Boys Hockey finished third in their league, earning a bye to the Final Four at Pickering College, where they will take on St. John's-Kilmarnock School for a spot in the finals.

1st Boys Hockey continues their defensive dominance, allowing just 11 goals in 9 games. They clinched 1st place in the CISAA division and will host the Final Four at Lakefield Arena next Wednesday.
