Class of 2025 Post-Secondary Update: Offers, Scholarships & Next Steps

Following this week’s faculty meeting and guidance update, we’re pleased to share more insights about the Class of 2025 and their post-secondary journeys.

Our graduating students have been busy finalizing their applications, submitting nearly 1,000 applications to 43 unique post-secondary institutions. An impressive 97% have applied to Canadian universities, while 24 students have submitted applications to 75 U.S. schools. Additionally, 10 students have applied to 22 universities in the UK, reflecting steady interest in European options.

Excitingly, our grads have already received over 350 offers of admission, with 90% of students holding at least one offer—an incredible milestone for our community! Their acceptances span Ontario, the rest of Canada, the U.S., and international institutions, opening a world of opportunities. In addition to these academic offers, the students have already earned over $2 million in scholarships, with one-third of the class (44 students) securing significant merit-based awards. Among them are prestigious national scholarships such as:
  • Queen’s Chancellor Scholarship

  • UBC’s Beyond Tomorrow Leaders

  • Huron University College’s Wes Hall Scholarship

  • UVA Jefferson Scholarship

We expect even more scholarship offers as students continue to receive their spring admissions results.
At this point, more than two dozen students have already made their decisions and deposited to their top-choice institution. However, approximately 100 students are still weighing their options and awaiting final results. We understand that it can be tempting to ask about your child’s plans for next year, but please be mindful that students are still in the process of deciding. Asking about their decisions before they’re ready can add unnecessary stress during what is already a challenging time. We encourage you to wait for your child to initiate the conversation when they feel comfortable sharing their plans.

Final decisions will continue to come in through late May. For those students who have given us permission to share their good news, you can find updates in EDSBY LCS Quick Links → Guidance → Sharing University Acceptances.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to you, our parents, for your continued support of our students. Whether you’ve helped edit personal statements, written letters of recommendation, comforted your child after a rejection, or simply reassured them about the bright future ahead, your encouragement is invaluable. It truly takes a village, and we’re so thankful to have you as part of our community.

Together, we celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2025 and the exciting opportunities ahead for each of them!
