On a very snowy and chilly Sunday, November 22, Grade 10 students participated in the annual Lakefield Santa Claus Parade. This year's parade was unique as it was a "drive-by" parade which meant that the floats were stationary and local residents drove by in their cars.
The ideas and planning for this year's contribution were a result of leadership from the Grade 10 reps: Ben Freeman, Isabelle Kim, Abbey Reeds and Griffin Mbonda with support from "tech guru" Dylan Smith. Approximately 45 students worked hard over the weekend to design, decorate, and rehearse. It was challenging to spend 2.5 hours in the falling snow but they braved the elements to sing, dance, play instruments, and spread seasonal joy to the MANY people who drove by.
Our Grade 10 students spend the year exploring Stewardship as part of their Leadership, Character, Values Program (LCV). It was wonderful to see this group share their positive energy, talents, and time with the community!
