Over the past two weeks, the Science learning camp at LCS has been busy with hands-on applications of scientific principles. Our summer campers spent their mornings learning about biology, chemistry, earth and space science, physics, and of the interrelationships between science, technology, society, and the environment through activities and experiments.
In the afternoons, they have loved engaging in traditional camp activities on our campus. From waterfront fun to beach volleyball to a visit to our Northcote Campus, there have been endless opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors.
During their visit to Northcote, the Science group met our farmers to learn about soil composition and irrigation processes. They also collected onion samples to learn about and observe mitosis in action under microscopes. The group is looking forward to applying their new knowledge throughout the next two remote weeks of the course!
