Nurturing Future Leaders: LCS Leaders in Training Program
Today marks our third week in the LCS Leaders in Training (LIT) program and our campers have been engaging in a range of activities and lessons that are molding them into confident and compassionate leaders.
The week kicked off with a focus on personal growth, as the class learned about the benefits and importance of setting SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely) goals. Empowering them to chart their paths towards success, this crucial skill will guide them throughout their leadership journey in school and beyond.
The class also completed "Dare to Lead"—a session that emphasized the power of compassion and courage. They learned that true leadership is not just about authority, but about understanding and uplifting others.
Another highlight of the week was the ropes course experience, where students engaged in trust-building exercises. Navigating challenges and relying on one another reinforced the importance of mutual trust and support within a team.
Our LIT class hasn't merely confined themselves to theoretical learning; they have been actively participating in the camp program's afternoon activities, taking on leadership roles in real-life scenarios. This hands-on experience provides them with invaluable opportunities to practice and refine their leadership skills, directly applying the theories and styles they've learned in the classroom.
Moreover, the LIT students have also been dedicated to developing essential interpersonal skills. They have gained practical experience by setting up informational interviews with staff members occupying various roles on campus.
As the week draws to a close, we can't help but acknowledge the growth of our LIT students. Their unwavering dedication and enthusiasm for learning and leading shine through in every aspect of the program. We eagerly anticipate witnessing their continued progress in the upcoming week as the program continues to shape these promising young leaders.
