Campers will spend time outdoors every day exploring different activities by and on the water, making arts and crafts, playing games, exploring our Northcote Farm, trying out our climbing wall, and making the most of all of the wonderful amenities our campus has to offer!

Will attendance be taken?
Yes, campers and their approved drop-off/pick-up contacts will check in with a staff member each morning and evening.
Who do I notify if we’re running late or if my camper is sick?
Who will be staffing summer programming? What are their credentials?
LCS Summer Academy & Programs Staff have or are working towards a relevant undergraduate degree or post-secondary diploma, have experience in a camp, daycare, school, or coaching environment, are certified in First Aid and CPR/AED, and have relevant certifications to their assigned area (e.g. waterfront staff have their NLS certification).
What is the average group size?
All of our camper ratios are aligned with OCA standards for best practice. For our youngest campers, a 1:6 ratio gives them additional supervision and help in their early years at camp, this increases to 1:8 when they join our Age 6-7 campers, and our oldest campers enjoy 1:10 ratios to help them make even more friends at camp!
Do your Junior Day Programs require minimum English proficiency?
Due to our expansive waterfront campus, it is essential that campers possess a basic understanding of English, particularly for safety instructions. This ensures their ability to navigate the environment safely and effectively. However, we warmly welcome campers with diverse levels of English proficiency and are excited to offer a vibrant and immersive English camp experience. If your child's first language is not English, please ensure they understand that the program will be conducted in English, promising an enjoyable and enriching language immersion experience.
Do you offer both day and overnight options?
Our Junior Day Camps (including Minis) are only offered as day-only programs.
When can I expect to receive more detailed information about how to prepare?
Our Orientation Essentials page will be made available before the program starts. This page provides arrival information, suggested packing lists, and more! A communication with the link will be shared closer to summer. A reminder email with arrival details will also be sent approximately one week before the session start date.
Will a packing list be provided?
Yes. Before summer a link to the Orientation Essentials (with a program-specific packing list) will be shared.
Will arrival and pick-up information be provided?
Yes. Before summer a link to the Orientation Essentials will be shared which includes the arrival and pick-up information. Additionally, an email reminder will be sent approximately one week before your program start date.
Is the Junior Day Camp only for local campers?
Any camper is welcome to register for our programs.
Is lunch included?
Yes! We’re pleased to share that a delicious lunch is provided each day. Whole fruit snacks are also provided. If you would like to send snacks with your camper, please ensure they are nut-free.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies?
Our dining hall services, provided by Aramark, routinely accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies. Families will be asked about dietary restrictions when completing their health forms. Once we are aware of a camper’s needs, we will work with dining hall services to accommodate them.
Can campers with severe allergies attend LCS Junior Day Camp?
We are accustomed to having students on campus during the academic year who have anaphylactic reactions. For any allergy, its existence and severity must be documented on our medical information forms. Campers who do not have health information on record before arriving on campus for their session will not be allowed to take part in the summer program.
Campers who have anaphylactic reactions will also be required to bring two EpiPens (one to carry with them, and one available for our Health Centre staff). Our First Aid Kits, at all program stations, are also equipped with EpiPens.
Is there a nurse or medical staff on-site?
Our Health Centre is open each day while our Junior Day Campers are on site.
Is there bussing for day campers?
Currently, no bussing is available for summer campers. If the number of day campers makes it viable, we would consider providing bussing from a central pick-up in Peterborough at an additional cost.
What are the chances of being able to register if we’re on the waitlist?
While we wish we could provide a concrete answer on the chances of a spot becoming available, it all comes down to our currently registered campers and their parents and plans.
We suggest submitting your waitlist application at your earliest convenience because if a spot becomes available, it is on a first come first serve basis.
What if there aren’t enough campers to run a session?
We will make every effort to meet our minimum enrolment number for each course/program. However, if our minimum enrolment is not met, we will need to cancel that session. Decisions about cancelling programs where enrolment is low will be communicated to families a minimum of two weeks before the program start date and we will make every effort to provide you with alternative options.
How will I know if a spot becomes available?
Our team will reach out if a spot becomes available. At that time you will have the opportunity to officially secure your spot.
Refund Policies
For all Summer Academy Programs, we will provide full refunds until April 30, 2025, minus a 5% of program cost administrative and processing fee. From May 1, 2025, and up until the day the program begins, a refund of 50% of the program cost can be received. Once the program has begun, no refund will be provided.
All programs are subject to enrolment and may be cancelled; in this case, campers will be offered a refund or can transfer to another session, pending availability.
