Grade 11 Biology: Travel Marine Biology Program

This program combines online learning, a stay on our LCS campus, and travel to the Huntsman Marine Science Centre, which is a world class research and education facility. The focus of this course is on refining skills related to investigation through fieldwork, observation and inquiry while we explore biological systems and diversity of life, evolution, genetics, animal and plant life.

  • GRADE 11 BIOLOGY: TRAVEL MARINE BIOLOGY PROGRAM* | 1 Session: June 30 - July 25

    This travel learning adventure is a blended academic Grade 11 Biology credit course that combines learning online with the opportunity to explore and compare the diversity of the marine environment of the Bay of Fundy (St. Andrews, NB), with the freshwater ecosystem of Lake Katchewanooka (Lakefield, Ontario). This program includes a stay on our LCS campus, and at the Huntsman Marine Science Centre, which is a world class research and education facility with access to marine experts, dedicated instructional labs/wetlabs, Fundy Discovery Aquarium, research vessel, several classrooms and dormitory. At the start and end of the course there is a portion of time dedicated to learning foundational and theoretical knowledge online.The focus of this course is on refining skills related to investigation through fieldwork, observation and inquiry while we explore biological systems and diversity of life, evolution, genetics, animal and plant life.

    *The program fee includes the following travel arranged by LCS:
    - Airport shuttle from LCS to Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ)
    - One-way flight to Fredericton Airport (YFC)
    - Shuttle from Frederiction Airport (YFC) to Huntsman Marine Science Centre
    - Shuttle from Huntsman Marine Science Centre to Frederiction Airport (YFC)

    Onward Flight from Fredericton Airport (YFC) on July 22
    Option 1: Students can arrange their own onward travel from Fredericton Airport (YFC) on July 22.

    Option 2: During camp registration student can select for LCS to arrange flight from Frederiction Airport to Toronto Pearson Airport on July 22 at an additional fee.

    Option 3: During camp registration student can also select for LCS to arrange a shuttle from Toronto Pearson Airport to the LCS Campus on July 22 at an additional fee.

    Grade 10 Science, Academic (SNC2D)
    Students must be entering Grade 11 in September, 2025.

Lakefield College School Summer Academy and Programs provide enrichment camps and credit courses for campers ages 4-18, located in Lakefield, Ontario, Canada.
